The Forty Twos are back with a new song and new video (which you can watch below) for their third single "Sick".  And if you were at the STP show at The Rust Belt in October, you might even see yourself in the video.  (You can also check out photos from that show of STP and The Forty Twos below the video.)

First, the fellas (Lead singer/guitar Ryan Housenga, guitar/backing vocals Colton Menke, bass/backing vocals Lance DeShane and drummer Adam Housenga) brought us Karma.   A slow jam that hit you with all the feels.

Then they came back with "Eyelids".  A song that came along with a creepy and awesome video that brings another layer of emotion to the song.

Now, they are back at it with "Sick".  The Forty Twos do not sound like the Offspring.  But this song has those vibes of "oh this is a fun happy song" when really it's, a darker song with some deep meaning.

Ryan Housenga of The Forty Twos tells I-Rock 93.5:

"The lyrics have a lot of different timelines within them. It’s a feeling of growing up, changing over time, or maturing? Maybe not that last one but the feeling of change."

"Over the past few years, it seems like the world has turned over a new page. Sometimes it feels like everything is upside down. Drastic change inward and in everything around me. All at once it kinda makes you sick as if you were on a sketchy carnival ride!"

"It’s a little bit what it felt like while we were going through all this change recently. One day a switch flips and you feel like a totally different person all while nothing changed at all."

"Change isn’t always bad but sometimes when it happens fast it can be a little nauseating. Sometimes it can make you feel sick."

When is the next time you can see The Forty Twos live?

You can see The Forty Twos, along with Alborn and Elisium Friday May 13 at the Midwest Monster Fest Halfway to Halloween Celebration.  Check out the details on the show (and day two with NonGrata and St. October) and win your tickets here.

Lyrics for "Sick" by The Forty Twos

I got a whole lot of pictures hanging on my wall
I remember quite a few
I got a whole lotta problems that I can’t talk about
I plead the 5th when I’m talking to you
Yeah I don’t think you know me
Maybe that’s all my fault
I see your portrait it looks lovely
Wrap your frame of mind around me
I can do this dance all night long

I could’ve warned you
I could’ve warned you way back when
I could’ve told you
I could’ve told you everything

What happened here broken glass
Guess the memories never last
Faded pictures never tell you the truth
Whiskey throttle and a crash
I give up not so fast
You’ve got everything left to lose

I could’ve warned you
I could’ve warned you way back when
I could’ve told you
I could’ve told you everything
Well the truth is
Well the truth is I don’t care
Well the truth is
Well the truth is it makes me sick

I won’t move another muscle but I’m not giving up
Forget about the hustle this is life or death now
And I’m so caught up in the struggle
Feels like I’m blacking out
I could use a little help
But I’m all by myself (2x)

I could’ve warned you
I could’ve warned you way back when
I could’ve told you
I could’ve told you everything
Well the truth is
Well the truth is I don’t care
Well the truth is
Well the truth is it makes me sick
