It was on June 4th that The Forty Twos made their Quad Cities debut at Riverview Roadhouse.  Four months (and several great shows) later we have our first single and video from them.

If you are unfamiliar with The Forty Twos, where were you this summer?  They played all of our Friday Nights at Riverview Roadhouse and our 2 Year Anniversary Party.  The band is lead singer/guitar Ryan Housenga, guitar/backing vocals Colton Menke, bass/backing vocals Lance DeShane and drummer Adam Housenga.  The picture and names might look and sound familiar to you.  Three-quarters of this band used to be The Zealots.  They have now embarked on this new project.

The Quad Cities has a lot of talented musicians.  And talent continues to push others in the city to grow and become even better.  With great musicians, and great producers around the area we will continue to see bands that we'll call "Quad Cities own..." when people across the country know them.  The Forty Twos is another one of those bands with all that potential.  You can hear it in their new song.  You can definitely see it when they are on stage.  Which anytime they play in the Quad Cities, we'll let you know so you can go check them out.

Lyrics to Karma:

Another loss I’m out of here
I can’t stand
The way it stings when I look in the mirror
Broken hand

You said you’d be right here
When I got back
Guess you had a change of heart

Drag me down another year
I don’t mind
Look at all my friends are here
Just in time
Watch me fade out into nothing
In no time Goodbye

And one last night
Look into the sky
Cuz there’s always shadows in my brain
Guess I wasn’t living in the first place
Get into a fight
Cutting teeth into the night
Got a couple scars to my name
Karma has a funny way of doing things

Congratulations
You figured it out
You left me here
With all this doubt
No confidence
I’m screaming out loud
You let me down
I’m falling down

And one last night
Look into the sky
Cuz there’s always shadows in my brain
Guess I wasn’t living in the first place
Get into a fight
Cutting teeth into the night
Got a couple scars to my name
Karma has a funny way of doing things

Open my mind
Throw it to the flames
Unmute my voice
Before it’s too late
I will see light before the day

And one last night
Look into the sky
Cuz there’s always shadows in my brain
Guess I wasn’t living in the first place
Get into a fight
Cutting teeth into the night
Karmas got a funny way of doing things
