Dan Donegan Of Disturbed Talks with I-Rock 93.5 About New Music, Tour, and Fan Favorites
Disturbed just dropped new music and is getting ready to hit the road for their 25th-anniversary tour. Before they go out on tour, founding member and guitarist Dan Donegan joined I-Rock 93.5 for a video chat about the new stuff and looking back at the old stuff.
Disturbed 25th Anniversary Tour
Dan can still remember writing the songs that will be played on the 25th-anniversary tour. On the tour, Disturbed will play "The Sickness" in full front to back, and then play more of the greatest hits in the second set.
"There are some of these songs that we haven't played in 15 years," Dan told us.
With a lot of these songs being ones they don't play as much I asked if there was one he was looking forward to and he said, "They all bring some level of excitement but as old as Down With The Sickness is, it's still exciting to play because the fans react and it gives new life to me every time we play it."
New Disturbed Song I Will Not Break
I Will Not Break is officially here and you can listen to it on I-Rock 93.5 and streaming everywhere.
Dan said the band was recording music in the fall of 2024, and I Will Not Break came late in the session. "I told my producer I felt creative and I wanted to go old school. I wanted to give something to David that triggered that old-school delivery out of David."

Dan said he was going through his archives getting ready for the 25th-anniversary tour and came across old demo cassette tapes. "Back in the day in the late 90s we would set up a little cassette player in the back of the room and record our practices to hear us improvising ideas". Dan continued by saying even though the riff from I Will Not Break is brand new the inspiration came from the old stuff.
Dan also told us that they have the material to put out a full album, but they don't have a game plan yet for when to release it.
We also talked about:
- A story about the song "Inside The Fire" and getting pushback on the song.
- Getting Disturbed, or some kind of rock, at the Super Bowl.
- The art of doing a cover song...which led to a story about them meeting Tears for Fears before they even released Shout.
