Meet Your First I-Host of 2020

The first I-Host 93.5 winner of 2020 has been a member of the I-Rock Hard Unit since day one.  She has wanted to host an hour since we first came up with this crazy idea.  She comes to all of our events.  Which is actually how she won this chance to kick off the New Year for all of you!

Question one – Who are you?
My name is Becky Mickelson, I'm from Dewitt. I'm the mother of two teenagers who keep me very busy and I've been married to my best friend Nathan for almost 17 years. I want to give a special shout-out to my friend Jenni for giving me her golden ticket to host this show, you'll never know how much this means to me!

Question two - Why do you love hard rock?
I think it's because rock music to me is so in tune with all of my feelings. Whether you're happy or sad or tired or mad, there's a song or an artist that you can always totally relate to. Plus rock fans are some of the most loyal fans you will ever meet. They have been going to the same shows for 20+ years and still love every minute of it!

Question three – Who is your favorite band/artist?
Just one? That's ridiculous. If we're talking current favorites then it's probably Ice Nine Kills, New Year's Day, and Badflower. Favorites of all time I would say Avenged Sevenfold, Halestorm, and Breaking Benjamin.

Question four – What is the best concert you’ve ever seen?
That's easy. Avenged Sevenfold in Moline February of 2011. There was a blizzard outside that dumped 14 inches of snow on the ground while A7X was lighting it up in the arena. We literally had to shovel our way out of the parking lot.
