The fellas from The Forty Twos are our special I-Host this week.  And, because the "Holy S&$t We've Made It Two Years" concert/party starts at 6pm at Riverview Roadhouse in Le Claire, they will be on starting at 5pm for your drive to the show!  If you still don't know...details here.

Who are we?
Ryan Housenga - singer and rhythm guitarist for The Forty Twos
Adam Housenga - drummer for The Forty Twos

Why do you love hard rock?
Adam - I love hard rock because of the ability to express your life experiences into songs with the chance that somebody else may be able to relate.
Ryan - I like rock n roll because it transcends genre, it’s an attitude and lifestyle that any artist can adapt to.

Who’s your favorite band/ artist?
Adam - blink 182 - growing up blink was the first secular band I knew about and Travis barker was everything I wanted to be as a drummer, it majorly influenced my style and feelings towards the drums.
Ryan - It always changes but I would have to go with the foo fighters. I am remember the first time I heard them on the radio I knew that was the exact type of music I wanted to make.

What is the best concert you’ve ever seen?
Ryan - my first concert ever was seeing reliant k opening for switchfoot. I got pulled out of the crowd to play a song on stage with reliant k at the tax slayer center (the mark at that time lol)
Adam - a couple years ago my friend bought tickets to see the twenty one pilots at the tax slayer center here in town and I’ve always been a fan of how they infuse rock into their overall pop sound but the production/set they put on completely blew me away with what I thought was possible! It was like seeing a Houdini magic show mixed with pop and rock n roll.

Ryan's playlist:

  1. Cold Hard Bitch - Jet
  2. Pretender - Foo Fighters
  3. Bullet with Butterfly Wings - Smashing Pumpkins
  4. Meant to Live - Switch Foot
