Cedar Rapids Primus Show Moving To New Venue Due To Weather
Updated 4/21/22
The Primus show originally scheduled for October 10, then moved to Friday, April 22 is moving again. The date remains the same, but due to the rain and thunderstorms expected in Iowa, the show will be moving inside.
In a statement from Venueworks:
The PRIMUS concert originally scheduled for the McGrath Amphitheatre has been MOVED and will now be performing at the Alliant Energy PowerHouse on Friday, April 22ndat 7 p.m.
The weather forecasted for Friday night includes rain, cold and significant wind conditions, and in the best interest of providing a good fan experience the show is being moved INDOORS on the same date and time.
All original tickets will be honored at the new venue. Seating will be provided indoors in a configuration as close as possible to your originally purchased seats.
The outdoor show would have been cool, but better to be inside and dry than having it postponed again.
For any questions, please contact the Alliant Energy PowerHouse box office at 319-398-5211.
After being postponed over and over and over again, things have worked out well for us that want to see the Primus Tribute to Kings Tour. Cause now a date in Cedar Rapids has been added to the tour.
October 10 at the McGrath Amphitheatre Primus will perform Rush's classic "A Farewell to Kings" in its entirety. With special guests Wolfmother and The Sword. Click here to get your tickets!
Les Claypool is definitely ready for the show saying on primusville.com,
Finally, the clouds are parting, the planets are aligning, the dough is rising…whatever metaphor floats your preverbal boat, PRIMUS is going on tour again. We were poised and ready for a massive, bent-rock extravaganza when the gremlins of covid came and yanked the rug out from under us all. I personally have been climbing the walls like a shit-house rat and, after my first season off in 30 some odd years, I’m very anxious and excited to stand in front of the microphone with my four string piece of furniture and belt out some girthy ditties to sweaty throngs of punters.
If you have never been to a show at McGrath Amphitheatre is a very cool experience. There is no bad seat, or standing area, in the place. It really depends on your preference.
- Reserved Seating - Each ticket an Orchestra or Terrace section includes a chair.
- GA Pit - Standing room only. No blankets/chairs permitted.
- GA Lawn - Blankets and reasonably sized chairs permitted.
If you are fan of Primus or/and Rush, this will be a once in a lifetime show in that will now be coming to Iowa.
