Who are you?

I am beyond excited to finally be able to host I-Rock 93.5!!!!! Lol HI, I'm Jen. I'm a 34-year-old bartender, and mother of 3, who loves trying new food, quotes movies in everyday conversation, and sings in the car while driving. My hobbies include building Lego sets, water coloring, and reading books. This is my attempt to define myself.

Why do you love metal?

The same reason one loves music. It's crazy to think how a few minutes of beats, tones, and singing words from a piece of paper can transform into a masterpiece to your ears. Truth be told, back in the day a younger me was watching TRL after school and the video for Got The Life by Korn changed my life. That song led me to a rabbit hole to find more music like it.

Who is your favorite band?

At the moment Avenged Sevenfold is on a non-stop loop. I recently saw them live and completely lost it when they played Roman Sky. I love all music though. My top 5 artists for 2023 according to my YouTube music recap are Whiskey Myers, Motionless In White, Taylor Swift, Bad Bunny, and Dua Lipa.

What is the best concert you've seen?

I have seen Slipknot perform 3 times in my life. Out of all these performances, my favorite would be the one in 2009 in Des Moline, IA. The energy from the band playing in their hometown was like no other. The only band I sang every song they performed was In This Moment. I didn't miss a beat and 100% took a vape hit when she sang "get a little bit higher" from Adrenalize.  Lol.  The most hardcore mosh pit in a concert was Vader in Chicago. These teenagers were wearing all white just to see how much blood they could get on their clothes from moshing. Lol To be young again.

My Playlist:

  1. Summer Breeze - Type O Negative
  2. Screams of the Butterfly - Acid Bath
  3. 3 Libras - A Perfect Circle
  4. City Lights - Motionless in White
  5. Pain remains 1: Dancing Like Flames - Lorna Shore
  6. Goodbye Agony - Black Veil Brides
  7. Everyday is Exactly the same - Nine Inch Nails
  8. The Fighter - In This Moment
  9. The Stage - Avenged Sevenfold
  10. Evisceration Plague - Cannibal Corpse
  11. Skeletons of Society - Slayer
  12. Bleed - Meshuggah
  13. Freezing Moon - Mayhem
