I can't begin to tell you how good it feels to know that concerts are coming back to the Quad Cities.  As I'm sure everyone already knows, we announced Badflower coming to The Rust Belt on May 7th! I've been joking for quite a while now that I'm so starving for shows that I would pay to see a homeless person on a street corner playing a harmonica.  I can tell you from first hand experience that we're going to get much better than that.

Let's be perfectly clear now, if you're looking at buying a ticket and heading directly into the mosh pit, you probably won't find one. While frontman Josh Katz and the rest of the band are extremely high energy on stage, their music won't incite any huge mosh pits. That may be a blessing in disguise, however.  I consider this show to be us dipping our toes back into the water after being off for a year.  I know in my case, I would probably die of exhaustion if I tried to dive right back into the pit after sitting on my ass for the past year!  This is the perfect show to get your rock and roll bearings back underneath you without throwing your back out!

I had the opportunity to see Badflower waaayyyy back in December of 2019 at the Q Casino in Dubuque.  They are best known for their songs like Ghost, The Jester, and the new single F*ck The World. Like I said, their shows are super high energy from start to finish.  From climbing on stage equipment, to amazing crowd engagement, there is never a dull moment.  Also, there was a very touching moment at the start of Ghost (which tackles the subject of suicide) in which Katz encouraged the crowd to take care of each other, and reach out for help if you feel lost. Much like the Sully Erna and Aaron Lewis show back in October, Josh is also not afraid to state his political beliefs.  It will be interesting at this next show to see if he continues to not mince words after this past year and everything that has happened.

All in all, I know this is going to be a great show!  Badflower will definitely bring their A Game, as I'm sure they are itching to get back to performing for the masses. These guys are the perfect "re-introduction" if you will for all of us who may be just a bit rusty from the lack of concerts.  Get your tickets now, because they are going fast!  If you're really feeling lucky, you can enter to win VIP tickets here.  This is one show you won't want to miss, and I'm sure its just the start of MANY more great shows to come!
