Listen To The Haunt Live Performance at The Rock & Roll Mansion
It's been a year since The Haunt played in the Quad Cities for the I-Rock 93.5 Stuff it & Scream. But the first thing Anastasia said to me when I saw her was, "Hey, you're the turkey." That will now haunt me. Nah... that's awesome she remembered, and it was great to have them back in town for an exclusive interview and live acoustic performance that you can listen to below.
From Coffee Shops To The Big Stages

Coming to the Rock & Roll Mansion at noon on a Friday felt a bit like a throwback for Maximillion and Anastasia, the Florida siblings who started performing together in grade school.
"She started singing acapella at open mics and stuff when she was around like eight years old. And I would sit on the stage and do nothing. Like, I was like an emotional support animal kind of thing. And then from there, eventually, I started playing piano. Then I started learning the guitar when I got a little bit older, and that's kind of just how it happened," said Maximillion.
Anastasia added, "It kind of was a party trick." Max said, "I remember my parents being like, I think she can sing. And my mom was like, everybody thinks that. And my dad was like, no, no, no. I think it's real. And we would just make her sing shit for the neighbors."
I checked...this is it for family members. They won't be starting a new Partridge Family anytime soon. "No, there were points where we really wished that they had a third kid," added Maximillion.

With Max coming from more of a rock background and Ana coming from the blues side of things, The Haunt has created their own sound, which continues to expand on their new album.
The Haunt New Album "Ghost" Coming October 30
The band might look young, like they just came from open mic night, but they have been doing this long enough to make 4 EPs and 1 full-length album. Now, on October 30, they are ready to drop another new one called "Ghost".
Maximillion and Anastasia said, "Songs that were ideas that never came to fruition on the last record; some of those got turned into songs on this record. And then there's a bunch of songs that were just new concepts. We were in (the studio) early, like last September, and then we went on the tour.
The Haunt worked with Kevin Thrasher and Jon Feldman, who brought a bunch of new creative ideas to the table. "So it was really fun kind of expanding the horizons of the sound that we created on the last record."
Live Performances of "Rain Clouds" and "Alone on Your Planet"

If you are looking for "Rain Clouds", the only place you will find it is in the audio below until October 30, when the album is released.
Did they make these songs for acoustic performances or adjust them for us? Definitely not made for acoustic. Even Max said, "That was a little bit of a struggle. We were like, 'How do you play that acoustically?' You can hear how they did it, and they did a fantastic job, below.
We also talked about:
- Musical influences, including The White Stripes...even after they found out they weren't siblings.
- Staying healthy while on the road...and what they (the boys) lean towards with cheat foods. Anastasia just had surgery and told us she can only eat bland, mushed-up foods.
- What they like, and don't like, with photo shoots and videos.
- Halloween costumes of past and future.
- The lore of Pebbels the Rabbit.
- And much more...
It was a cool conversation that was also really fun, with some good laughs...I can't explain or properly interpret the one-line joke from Max; you just have to listen.
Be sure to check out the new album when it drops on October 30, and keep an eye out for them coming back around cause we'd love to get them back on stage here in the Quad Cities.
