I-Rock 93.5 Quad Cities Concert Year In Review

What a year for live music in the Quad Cities.  There was so much rock from your local bar to the Vibrant Arena.  No matter where you went in town we appreciate you supporting live music.  You can listen to the concert year in review on 12/20 from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. on I-Rock 93.5.

January 13 - I-Rock 93.5 Holiday Hangover - Discrepancies, Alborn - Redstone Room

Remember this snow storm?  It's the one that knocked out our tower for like 2 months.  What a way to start the year.

If you made it to this show...thank you!  It was so cold...so, so, so cold.  And snowy.  And windy.  And just...thank you to all that made it.  Alborn will be back at the Redstone Room in Davenport on February 8th.

January 26 - The Hong Kong Sleepover, Kashmir - The Rust Belt

The final performance for The Hong Kong Sleepover was a rockin' one at The Rust Belt.

January 27 - Defnotes, Wonkzilla - Rascals

Are you keeping track of how many you were at?

February 25 - The Scratch, Pennywise, Dropkick Murphy’s - The Rust Belt

Such a great show having Dropkick Murphy's in town for the first time.

March 18 - Sullivan King, Poppy, Avenged Sevenfold - Vibrant Arena

Show one of two at Vibrant Arena.  A7X put on a performance.  Poppy sounded great...but didn't have any crowd interaction.

March 26 - Fuming Mouth, Cancer Bats, Gwar - Capitol Theatre

It was a soaking good time with Gwar.  So many of you got so wet.  And now you can see them again with Static-X on May 31.

April 6 - Nongrata, Widow7, Alborn - Rascals

There was a great lineup at Rascals with a full house on a fun night as always with three "local" bands.

April 14 - Blue October - The Rust Belt

A plugged-in performance that had the crowd singing along.

April 19 - Kingdom Of Giants, Chelsea Grin, Fit For A King - Capitol Theatre

This crowd got rowdy!

May 4 - Sleep Theory, Veil of Maya, Nothing More, Wage War - The Rust Belt

I said before the show that it had all the makings of show of the year...and I stand by that.  To me this was the best show this year.  All 4 bands sounded great, got the crown going, and it was the perfect night to display the force of rock.

May 7 - Blind Channel, Norma Jean, Bad Wolves, P.O.D - The Rust Belt

This was a sneaky good show that would have been way more full if it hadn't been on a Tuesday night.

May 23 - Endpass, Magdalene Rose, Seventh Day Slumber, Scotty Austin, Rehab - The Rust Belt

There were two times in 2024 when we had two concerts on the same night.  Not ideal, but they were very different shows and we either took them when we could or we didn't get them at all.

May 23 - Born of Osiris and Atilla - Capitol Theatre

May 25 - Elijah, Phix, Ekoh, Point North, From Ashes To New - Capitol Theatre

The first of two times From Ashes To New would rock with us in 2024.  This one they came as the headliner and put on a great show.

June 17 - Velvet Chains, Lines Of Loyalty (Unplugged) - Daquiri Factory

We took our I-Rock with Rock Stars out of the studio with these bands for a very cool one of a one-of-a-kind experience

July 21 - Pitlord, A Killer’s Confession, Drowning Pool - The Rust Belt

The mighty Quad Cities own Pit Lord got the show rumbling to start and then it was great to see Ryan back on stage with Drowning Pool.

August 16 - Simon Says, Smile Empty Soul, Hed Pe, Taproot, Nonpoint - The Rust Belt

The show was memorable for all the bands performing together for One Night Only.  It was also memorable when Stephen Richards, the lead singer of Taproot, jumped from the I-Rock 93.5 Party Penthouse to the crowd.

August 24 - Imposters Music Fest 2 - Schwiebert Park

The biggest tribute fest in the Midwest with a dozen bands and these three running around a park in the summer.  A good time was had by all...even the pink bunny.

August 31 - 5 Freakin' Years Of Hard Rock with Shallow Side, Alborn, All That Remains - The Rust Belt

I've said it before...and I'll say it again.  Thank you for coming to this show and supporting us with everything we've done for the last 5 years.

September 13 - The Band Feel, Dirty Honey - The Rust Belt

Some cool guys that can really play that new classic rock sound.

September 27 - The Rumjacks, Flogging Molly - Capitol Theatre

While the show of the year was on May 4th, this was my favorite performance.  The band holds a special place in this Irish heart and it was great to see them here in the Quad Cities.

September 29 - Dead Poet Society, Highly Suspect - Capitol Theatre

What a weekend this was with back-to-back shows at Capitol Theatre!

October 18 - Jimmies Chicken Shack, Marcy Playground, Everclear - The Rust Belt

We took it back to the 90s and filled The Rust Belt with all the nostalgia.

October 19 - If Not For Me, New Years Day, From Ashes To New, Set It Off - Capitol Theatre

It was great to hang out with the bands before the show for "Bloodys with The Bands" and was an awesome performance from everyone.

October 22 - Mind Incision, There Is No Us, Upon A Burning Body, Mushroomhead - The Rust Belt

Mushroomhead took it to the crowd for a great show and then hung around late after to take pics and chat with fans.

October 26 - Yours Truly, You Me at Six, Enter Shikari - Capitol Theatre

This was the second date of the year when we had two shows in one night and it was also the same night as our Halloween Ball.  The timing was rough but it gave a lot of people a lot of options!

October 26 - Stand Atlantic, August Burns Red, A Day To Remember - Vibrant Arena

Many of you made a great decision to rock with ADTR.  We talk about how there is a difference between a concert and a show.  This was a full-on show!

November 3 - A Ronins Test, Paralandra, Scotty Austin, Tantric - Redstone Room

I'll be honest on this one...fun night...but it was a Sunday night and I was exhausted and forgot to take pictures.  Really liked Paralandra and Scotty and Tantric sounded great as well.

November 8 - Wind Walkers, Zero 9:36, Currents, The Plot In You - Capitol Theatre

So much crowd surfing.  So, so much crowd surfing.

November 20 - Mike’s Dead, Nathan James, Kim Dracula, In This Moment - The Rust Belt

The most controversial show of the year.  Some people loved the pageantry of the night while others wanted more Maria and fewer costumes.

December 7 - I-Rock 93.5 Not So Silent Night with Devour The Day, Sleep Theory, Daughtry - The Rust Belt

What a way to end the year.  Thank you for joining us at this one and all the shows in 2025.
