This Is The Best Restaurant In Iowa And It’s Full Of Surprises

On a lightly traveled brick road, next to the railroad tracks and behind a government building is one of Yelp's Top 100 restaurants of 2023.  It's not just one of the top restaurants in the Quad Cities, and not just in Iowa, but one of the best in the entire country.

With accolades like that, I just had to check it out.  And what I found when I went there surprised me in some different ways.

The Quad Cities and Iowa's Top Restaurant

If you are looking for the top spot, look to Davenport's Cafe D'Marie landing at number 36 overall on the top 100 list.

The restaurant is located at 614 W 5th Street just behind the Scott Country Treasurer's Office.  It's not where you'd expect to find any restaurant let alone one of the top restaurants in the country.  But there it is tucked inside an old house built in 1865.

Dr. DeAnna Marie Walter, a chiropractor, opened the cafe 15 years ago with partner Rick Kimmel in the old home.

Cafe D'Marie is only open Wednesday-Sunday from 10:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.  So plan your dining experience properly.
