No matter where you are, things are the same, and no matter where you live, you will be the one to determine if it's a great place or awful. It's much more your mindset than the actual street, city, or in this case, the state of Iowa.

Having lived in multiple states and cities over the last few decades I truly believe that you can look at the negative and be miserable or you can find the positive and enjoy life.  After we roll through 10 reasons why you should move to and live in Iowa, I'll share with you some of the miserable comments from people who will always be miserable no matter where they live.

To Much Corn

The inspiration for this article came from "When In Your State" which went through simple reasons to move and live in Iowa.  Things like having corn.  Some could look at it and think it's boring.  Others see it as feeding America and take pride in it.

Yeah if you are looking for the Rocky Mountains then you moved to the wrong place.  But if you can see the beauty in all things nature Iowa has plenty of it.

Having lived in northern Wisconsin I can tell you Iowa is not that bad.  And having lived in Texas and Arizona, if you want to complain about the heat instead then move there.

No Big Cities

Having lived in Dallas and Houston I can give you all sorts of reasons why big cities are great.  And why they are awful.  If you like sitting in traffic for hours then Iowa might not be for you.

This isn't Las Vegas.  But again, if you are looking for dancing and fun you can find it.  The internet is a wonderful tool.

Not By The Ocean

If you like hurricanes and insane property prices then you get to an ocean state.  But if all you're after is water, Iowa has plenty of lakes and rivers to give you those same vibes.

The article also mentions "Slow Pace of Life," "Limited Cultural Diversity," and "Nothing Exciting Happens Here." With all those, I can easily say that if you are looking for it, you can find it.

Now this simple article about not moving to Iowa got some great comments.  And by great I mean miserable people who will never be happy with their life.

That's not true Blade.  (By the way, there is only one Blade)  In fact more people are moving to Iowa than ever before while other states are having a population decline.

No Walter, you suck.  And no matter where you live you will be a miserable troll commenting on articles about how everything sucks.
From Wisconsin to Texas, to Arizona, back to Texas, to Iowa.  I've found the good and bad in every place I've lived.  But I focus on the good places, people, and things around me to continue to enjoy life.  And I hope all of you in Iowa can do the same.  If not, here is the link to Uhaul.  Have fun.
