This seems like such a bad idea and I don't know why these guys agreed to it.

Alex Coats and Kyle Delveau from Doppelgänger, along with Dan Freitag from Pit Lord were on the I-Rock 93.5 Local Stage and took the "Carolina Reaper Challenge".  First note to Alex, Kyle, and Dan...if Trevor told you that you had to do this to get on the show, that was a lie.  You are welcome at any time without eating the spiciest peppers known to man.

Now if you are not a spicey pepper expert, you might have no clue about the intensity that is the Carolina Reaper.  The way the heat of peppers is measured is through the "Scoville Unit".  For example, bell peppers are a 0.  No heat there.  Jalapenos are between 2,500-8,000.  Maybe you've dumped some tabasco peppers in your chilli, those are 30,000-50,000.  Well, the Carolina Reaper is 1,400,000-2,200,000 on the Scoville scale.  What in the actual F would you eat one of these for.  My mouth, nose, lips and butt all hurt even thinking about it.

I mean this thing was bred just for heat.  It's a cross between a Ghost Pepper and a Red Habanero.  Who are the mad scientists that wanted to blow out their sphincter by creating this pepper?  But, according to pepperhead.com, it also "has an excellent fruity flavor to boot."  How in hell are you tasting a fruity flavor when your mouth is literally on fire.

So here you go.  Check out the video of the Carolina Reaper Challenge below and then listen to them for Episode #43 of The Local Stage! Catch this episode dropping on Sunday 10-3-2021 on I-Rock 93.5 and ALL major podcasts.
