My name is James Partin, sounds the same as Dolly's last name Parton, but with an "I" not an "O."  I am a Kentucky native transplanted to the frozen tundra that is the Quad Cities about 4 years ago.  I got my first taste of real rock in 2001.  I grew up in the country where the only rock station on the radio was the classic variety.  I heard a song in my friends video game and I thought "Now this is what music should be!"

Rock music really speaks to my soul.  Growing up in poverty, a lot of the songs came along and felt like driving force during the low moments to never give up, keep moving, keep working, and overcome all obstacles to achieve success.  The genre really stuck with me as a young man and has held onto me ever since.   My favorite band is who got me into rock: Stone Temple Pilots.  While this may be hard to believe among the throngs of 93.5 listeners, I have never been to a concert.  When I was young I never had the time or the money.  Now as a husband and father, I really don't have the money.
