It’s A Special I-Host With Our Friends From Shallow Side Taking Over
The guys from Shallow Side are so excited to play the 5 Freakin' Years of Hard Rock Anniversary Party that they showed up 3 weeks early. Since they were here, we figured we would have them host an hour of the station. So let's meet, this week's I-Host.
Normally on Friday at 6:00 p.m. you can host your hour on I-Rock 93.5 with our "I-Host" presented by Analog Pizza and Arcade.
You choose the playlist. Then you come to the Rock & Roll Mansion and talk about the songs. All you need to do is sign up here and then watch your email. A lot of people are signed up but we'll get you in eventually!
Hey wait...before you see what Shallow Side picked for their playlist and listen to the interview and acoustic songs they rocked for us I feel like this is a good place to remind you about the 5 Year Anniversary Party. I know you know, but some of you are stalling on buying tickets. Trust me, it's going to be a party. Especially with these guys.
Saturday, August 31 at The Rust Belt we've got All That Remains, Alborn, and Shallow Side. Tickets are only $9.35 and are available here or at Coop Records.
Meet Shallow Side
Shallow Side is (from left to right) Sam Bower, Eric Boatright, Codey Red, and Heath Feilds. As any good young band should that come into I-Host, they picked some of their songs but also picked other young bands that they called "the new chapter of rock".
Shallow Side's Playlist
- Shallow Side - Sound The Alarm
- Bad Omens - Just Pretend
- Shallow Side - Filters
- Sleep Theory - Fallout
- From Ashes To New - Barely Breathing
- Plush - Run
- Flat Black - A Little Bit Of Lightning
- Shallow Side - No One Wins (Radio Broadcast Premiere)
Not only did the guys play some great tunes, but we also spent a lot of time talking. They talked about the songs they played and how they got Elias from Nonpoint to join them on "Filters".
Then when we got done with I-Hosting the guys pulled out some guitars and performed two acoustic songs for us in the studio. Being able to hear "Rebel" and "Worst Kind" in that setting was awesome. And now, you can hear them too.
Below is the full conversation with the guys. FYI...we can't podcast the recorded tracks they play during I-Host. So you'll just hear the conversation we had followed by the two live performances.
Then be sure to party and hang out with them at The Rust Belt on August 31! Tickets are available here!
