QC Rock Academy Free Fall Music & Arts Fest Is Today
Quad Cities outdoor concerts can be wonderful...when the weather cooperates. The right sun, sunset, and night just make the music sound that much better. However, the rain, wind, and cold just make it that much worse. Or, make it so bad, that the show gets canceled.
That is what happened for the first try of the QC Rock Academy arts and music showcase in September. But, mother nature isn't going to keep these kids from performing. And now, a new date is set for them to showcase their talents.
QC Rock Academy Bands
There will be numerous youth solo artists and bands performing a wide variety of rock. You'll get some heavy stuff with covers from bands like RATM, Drowning Pool, Sepultura, and Deftones. Then other bands will cover the softer side of rock and of course, the Classic Rock tunes everyone knows. It's something for everyone with bands that include:
- Crushed Monkey
- Sleepyhead
- Company Dime
- Made Ya Look
- Anthropoid
Schwiebert Riverfront Park in Rock Island
The park is located on 1st and 17th street in Rock Island with plenty of parking at the park or across the street between 17th and 18th.
It's a great park with a perfect bandshell and grass to enjoy the show. That grass did not fare too well on that rainy day in September, but now on October 8th, we'll hope for clear skies to enjoy the night. Plus, there is playground equipment on the other side of the park if the little ones get restless.
And while there, the Rock Island Parks Department will be grilling up food, and Radical Effect Brewerks will be pouring drinks while you enjoy views like this looking across the river.
Not just music for you to check out.
