The QC Rock Academy Summer Kickoff Concert 2026

For rock fans in the Quad Cities, the QC Rock Academy Summer Kickoff Concert feels like the true start of summer.  While this year might feel a little different, the energy from the student bands at this FREE concert will put a smile on everyone's face.

Join I-Rock 93.5 on Saturday, May 16, at Schweibert Park in Rock Island, starting at 4:00 p.m., as nearly 50 students show you that the future of rock in the Quad Cities is strong!

The QC Rock Academy Summer Kickoff Continues

On January 2nd, the founder of the QC Rock Academy, Greg Hipskind, unexpectedly passed away.  Greg dedicated his life to music, mentoring, and inspiring the next generation of musicians.

The Quad Cities music community will forever miss Greg, but there is one thing he would for sure want: for the music to play on.

So the QC Rock Academy continues with Greg's vision of teaching, not only music to students, but also the confidence to walk on stage in front of strangers and perform.

All the Different-Sounding Student Bands at the QC Rock Academy

There will be 50 students performing with 10 bands and select soloists throughout the evening.

Food and beverage provided by Skinny's Fiya Truck and Bent River Brewing Company.

QC Custom Tees will be on site and printing Summer Kickoff shirts and Band shirts.

Summer is upon is so bring your lawn chairs and come join the free party to kick off summer!
