Meet the band!
I’m Cam Cannady, and I play guitar for Mercury’s Crown. I love hard rock because of the passion and heart that goes into the music and also because of the scene and people. My favorite band is Pantera, by far. They just play so hard and have so much energy; it’s great. The best concert I’ve ever seen was definitely Metallica. I got to see two of my favorite bands of all time while also seeing some great openers.
I’m Aidan McGinn, the drummer for Mercury’s Crown. I love the voice it gives people, it’s been a voice for the people since its beginnings. My favorite band is The Mars Volta or, oddly enough, Snarky Puppy, which is a jazz fusion band. The best concert I've seen was Maynard's tour with Primus with their Sessanta tour or when I saw King Gizzard perform a 3-hour marathon show last year.
My name is Nicky Bibik, and I am the bass guitarist of Mercury's Crown. Why I love hard rock: I love the righteous fury of a lot of hard rock. There is a lot of injustice in the world, and rock and roll is one of the most powerful ways to stand up and inform people in an easily digestible way. My favorite band is either My Chemical Romance or Ghost. The best concert I've been to was Green Day's Saviors tour. I saw two of my favorite albums performed in full, plus some good songs from their newest album the tour was named for. I also got to see Rancid and The Smashing Pumpkins, which are two of the all-time greats. The opening band was The Linda Lindas, and they were absolutely incredible. They embody the exact righteous fury I expect out of a punk rock concert, and it's always great to see the next generation of rock as a part of it.
My name is Jordan Dodd, I am the lead singer and writer for Mercury’s Crown. I love hard rock because behind all the amazing riffs, shredding guitars, and raspy vocals, there is always a meaning that is really deep and thoughtful. My favorite band is Muse. Their technique and distortion is unmatched, and the vocals are killer. The best concert I've been to was Metallica in Minneapolis. I got to see Pantera and Mammoth WVH open for them in a giant, packed stadium. It was just an amazing show.
