My name is Jacob Warren, but my friends call me Memphis Jake. I grew up in Memphis, TN, shockingly enough, and I've lived here in the Quad Cities for the past 10 years or so.

The reason I love hard rock is because there isn't any other genre of music that makes me feel as alive. I was raised on it from a very young age, luckily, so its definitely ingrained into my soul. Most everything is pretty bland in comparison!

Its really hard to pick just one band that would be my favorite. It's always changing, but if I have to name one band that I can't live without, it would have to be Queens of the Stone Age.

I've been to far too many concerts to remember, but there's one that stands out; seeing Alice In Chains and Deftones on a very cold, rainy and muddy night at the 2013 Beale Street Music Fest in Memphis. It was pretty wild!

My 20 songs are as follows;

  1. Mars Volta - Cotopaxi
  2. Ty Segall - Waxman
  3. Osees - Gelatinous Cube
  4. The Damned - Politics
  5. MC5 - Baby Won't Ya
  6. The Stooges - Gimme Danger
  7. At the Drive In - Sleepwalk Capsules
  8. Gojira - Indians
  9. Judas Preist - Starbreaker
  10. Mastodon - Iron Tusk
  11. NIN -  Please
  12. The Cramps -  Sunglasses After Dark
  13. Bad Brains - The Regulator
