February 14th is National Donate Your Organ Day
Sunday is February 14th. Does that day ring a bell to you? It should...for either good or bad reasons. Of course if you hate the holiday you can send me pictures of your ex for our Valentine's Day Exorcism and possibly even win beer. If you are a hard rocker that is happy the day of love is on the way, then you can check out how to have the perfect VD day here.
But, did you know that February 14th is also National Donor Day. So while you celebrate love it's also a day dedicated to spreading awareness and education about organ, eye and tissue donation.
You can help save and heal more lives as National Donor Day is a time to focus on all types of donation—organ, eye, tissue, blood, platelets and marrow. National Donor Day also recognizes those who have given and received the gift of life through organ, eye and tissue donation and are currently waiting for a lifesaving transplant.
In addition to registering to be an organ, eye and tissue donor or contributing to the DLA cause, you can also download our National Donor Day images and Donor Day Valentine’s Cards to raise awareness about donation throughout social media.
So get out there and make February 14th a day to donate your organ to as many people as you can.
