For the first time ever Dropkick Murphys came to the Quad Cities and they did not disappoint.  An awesome night of music, dancing, moshing, and fun happened at The Rust Belt in East Moline, Illinois.

With special guests Pennywise and The Scratch, it was a night to remember.  You can check out the awesome photos from DT Photo below.

What a cool way to start the show.  Staight out of Dublin the guys from The Scratch came out and played...hard to explain how they played.  Such a cool unique sound of traditional Irish mixed with rock and punk sounds.  Definitely a band to look up and blast as we get ready to party for St. Patrick's Day.

These guys have been doing it since 1988 and other than one change with the bass player in 1997, it's still the same band.  The same fast punk rock, the same message and the same awesome performance.

The pit was swirling for this one which was awesome to see from above.  Saw a few spikey mohawks that ended up down by the end of the night.

It's been about a decade since I've seen Dropkick Murphys live...and they still got it.  Mixing in old and new and Irish and punk the guys were full of energy with great crowd interaction.  Probably the first, and maybe the only time ever, there was a banjo player crowd surfing.

The night was filled with great music and great people.  I know, it was a Sunday, but the tiredness will fade.  The memories of an amazing night of live music will live on.  And you can see it again, or for the first time, below.

See you at the next one!

The 2011 Quad Cities Bizzard Concert

The 2011 Groundhog Day Blizzard was one for the record books. But that didn't stop thousands of people making the drive to the "I Wireless Center" for Avenged Sevenfold. Stone Sour, Hollywood Undead, and New Medicine.
