The Fun Way The Capitol Theatre In Davenport Rocked Again With Atreyu
The Capitol Theatre in Downtown Davenport is rocking again. It's been over 13 years since the historic venue has been open for anything. Now it's back with rock and plenty more shows planned.
Things are still coming together at the venue as well. As you can see in the below picture, the speakers and lights aren't fully hung up. The outside marquee is still coming together. And just the basic flow of people getting used to where to walk in and find the bathroom is new for everyone.
But it's an awesome venue with an open floor and GA seating. For bigger shows, they can open up the balcony as well. The architecture, paintings, and design are something you typically don't notice at a rock show, but you will when you go to a show there.
The stage is a bit smaller than the Rust Belt both across and depth-wise. But it has very, very high ceilings. Things sounded and looked great as we kicked off a new era of rock at The Capitol Theatre.
Catch Your Breath
Catch Your Breath started out the night with a bit of a longer set than they had last time in town. Recently they were at The Rust Belt in East Moline with Nothing More and some of those same fans that saw them there were in the Capitol to watch them open this show.
Atreyu
Atreyu has been doing their thing for 25 years now and with 9 albums of songs to choose from had no problems packing the set list. While the band sounded great it was everything else they did that made it a night to remember.
Lead singer, Brandon Saller, engaged the crowd early by coming out to the barricade. But that wasn't close enough...so then he went into the crowd. But then he wanted a different view so he went to the back and took a seat. Then, while still playing and singing, started a conga line with the fans. When was the last time you saw a conga line at a rock show? Well, you can see it on our Instagram page.
The fan interaction continued with a photo shoot, donuts, and more. The crowd wasn't the biggest but that didn't stop them. In fact, I think it motivated them to make sure every person had a great time. As you can see below, we did. And we look forward to the next one.
