Officials from the city of Moline announced this morning an emergency closure of River Drive due to a water main breaking.

On Tuesday morning, officials from the city of Moline announced in a social media post that a water main had burst on River Drive.

This water main break has forced city officials to close River Drive from 34th street to the city of East Moline border. This portion of River Drive will be closed so the city of Moline Public Works department can fix the break.

Officials from the city of Moline also announced that there will be an interruption of water service. City officials also said asks motorists to find an alternate route. The city and us will keep you updated when that portion of River Drive will be open again.

To keep the mood light, in their social media post, city officials said,

"The sun is shining, birds are chirping and water mains are bursting with excitement as warmer weather approaches.

Forest Gump once said, “And sometimes rain even seemed to come straight up from underneath,” and that is what is occurring right now after a water main burst this morning on River Drive."
