Rock and Rugby go together like peanut butter and jelly.  That is why on October 14 at Centennial Park in Davenport I-Rock 93.5 will join the Quad City Irish Women's Rugby Team for their full day of rugby action and fun at their "Color Festival".

The Quad City Irish Women's Rugby Team is committed to making a positive impact in the community. As part of our dedication to the cause, they will be supporting Women United from United Way, a charity that empowers and supports women in our community. There will be opportunities to donate to this important cause during the event.

In addition, we will also be raising awareness for Domestic Violence Awareness, emphasizing the importance of supporting survivors and working to end domestic violence in our communities.

The free day of fun on October 14th will have something for everyone.

From 10.30 AM to 11.30 AM bring the kids and introduce them to the joy of rugby! The free Rookie Rugby session is perfect for young rugby enthusiasts to learn the basics of the game in a fun and supportive environment.

At the same time, there will be an "Introduction to Rugby for High School Women".  The introductory session includes noncontact drills and games. It's a fantastic opportunity to explore the sport in a welcoming environment.

From 11.30 AM to 12.30 PM, the festival will feature a Coed Touch Rugby for those 18 plus.  If you are new to rugby or simply looking for a low-pressure way to enjoy the game then join the coed touch rugby session and experience the sport without the physical contact.

Then starting at 1:00 PM will be the main event of the day when the Midwest Women's Development Game begins. Watch as talented rugby athletes from across the region compete in an exciting match that promises to showcase the best of women's rugby.
