Slayer Gifted With Silver Tiffany’s Concert Tickets at Sold-Out NYC Show
To commemorate the band's sold-out show at New York City's Madison Square Garden on Saturday (Nov. 9), members of Slayer received sterling silver replica concert tickets of the event forged by Tiffany & Co.
That's how guitarist Gary Holt made it seem when displaying his shiny gift from the Garden. Slayer played the historic venue over the weekend as part of their farewell tour, "The Final Campaign," which continues throughout the U.S. this month. Watch the video down toward the bottom of this page.
"I got THE coolest gift last night from the awesome folks @thegarden, a sterling silver Tiffany's replica of the ticket for last nights sold out show," Holt showed on Instagram Sunday (Nov. 10). "Thanks a million, I'll be displaying this proudly! And thanks to @tiffanyandco for making these!"
But is it really the end for Slayer? Although the group has decided to halt their touring activity, a recent interview with band manager Rick Sales posited that it wouldn't be the end of the band overall.
"I totally get that they made a decision to stop touring," Sales told Mass Live last week. "That doesn't mean the end of the band. It's just the end of touring. I always thought of it as, 'you go out on top.'"
And while one group wraps things up on the touring circuit, another is just getting started again. Following last month's announcement about the return of My Chemical Romance, Holt spoke to Loudwire about that act's linchpin album The Black Parade and its "super ambitious" thematic scope.
Before Slayer quit the road, the rockers still have shows left in the Midwest and Northwestern parts of the country before they mount a pair of closing shows in Los Angeles Nov. 29 and 30. Get Slayer tickets here.
