Look At The Last Awesome Show of 2023 with Sevendust
What a way to finish off the 2023 concert season. Sevendust, 10 Years, Burden of the Sky, and Core at The Rust Belt was a good time from before the show started until (almost) the very end.
The night started with the I-Rock 93.5 Party Bus. This is the second time we've taken the bus out on an adventure for an event and we'll definitely do it again. Those drinks at Daq Faq, the food at Barrel House, and the games at Analog Pizza & Arcade were a great way to start the night. You can see some of those pics on our Facebook page.
Now why did I qualify with "almost" for the end of the night, well there was a little key mishap with the I-Rock 93.5 truck. But all is well that ends well with a few Ubers and lessons learned of where to keep the keys. AKA in my pocket.
Core, Burden of the Sky, 10 Years, and Sevendust
The night started with Core. Didn't know much about them. The lead singer looked like Johnathon Davis from Korn. Hair and mustache-wise.
Then we got the regional band (Central Illinois) Burden of the Sky. They had a good sound and stage presence that got the crowd going. Keep an eye out for these guys as I'm sure they'll be around the area more.
Next up was 10 Years. I enjoyed them more this time than the last time they were at The Rust Belt. Not that they were bad last time, but this performance just sounded a bit better and was a fun set.
Finally, Sevendust finished up our 2023 concert year. They started by playing the entire "Seasons" album front to back. Which was pretty cool but also left me wanting more. We got some more for an encore. But I wanted to hear new stuff from them. Still, a good show from Sevendust and a great way to end the year.
But the best part of the night, I know it's cheesy, but it was you. Was so awesome to see so many of you and talk as much as we could.
Thank you for rocking with us in 2023. Here is to another awesome year of shows...which we'll get started soon with the I-Rock 93.5 Holiday Hangover on January 13. See you there.
