These Bands Could Rock The 2027 Mississippi Valley Fair

Another year of the Mississippi Valley Fair is in the books. So now the question is, who could be coming in 2027? Maybe you can help decide. Scroll down to see who it could be and then vote for the bands you want to see at the fair. We'll send them over to the folks at the MVF!

We already know the midway will be filled with rides, games, food, drink, animals, and us Townsquare Media radio stations having a good time. We also know two of the nights on the Grandstand. Bailey Zimmerman and Sam Hunt.

But will the Mississippi Valley Fair rock again in 2027? It lightly rocked this year. Many people enjoyed the Goo Goo Dolls on Saturday night. But of course we mean, will it ROCK again?

A reminder: it's a fair. There will ALWAYS be more country than anything else. Shawn has said he'd like to do 3 country nights, 1 pop, 1 classic rock, 1 rock. However, some bands are just harder to book. Like rock bands. Why do we have to be so difficult?

So let's take a look at my prediction of the Top 9 bands who could rock the 2027 Mississippi Valley Fair.

Who Won't Be At The Mississippi Valley Fair In 2027

Just because James is wearing a cowboy hat doesn't mean Metallica is coming to the fair. Any band you see playing stadiums is out. Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Green Day. To take it a little older, AC/DC, GNR. You get the point.

Certain bands won't play the fair, because it's a fair. Rage Against the Machine, System of a Down, and other politically minded bands.

It also won't get that heavy. Sorry, but no Slipknot, Lamb of God, or anything else that looks like a pile of sticks.

The number of bands that fit a fair vibe and are big enough to put 10,000 people in the grandstand is quite limited.

Bands That Could Rock The 2027 Mississippi Valley Fair

Shinedown

They are a perfect fit of rock for a fair. The only reason I have them at number 9 is that they are playing just an hour north this year at Velocity Fest. But even with that, I think they are still in play.

Creed

Just like Shinedown, Creed will also be playing at The Field of Dreams. But they have a slight advantage cause they haven't recently played the fair.

Skillet

Once again...playing Velocity Fest. Win tickets here. But, a cheaper option than Creed and Shinedown, so if the fair goes big again with country, they could slide them into the rock night.

Halestorm

This is the only band with a female lead on my list. In This Moment is too heavy. Evanescence too big...and probably not the right fit people-wise. The only other one I thought could work would be The Pretty Reckless. But not sure I see them playing a fair. But Halestorm possibly could pull it off.

Staind

"Aaron Lewis will just talk the entire time," says the Facebook troll. No, he won't. Cause it's Staind. Not just Aaron. The rest of the band keeps him in check, and they just play the rock that you love from Staind.

Disturbed

The next two are borderline "heavy" for the fair. But I think they still fit. They have both played the Iowa State Fair and could easily play the MVF.

Five Finger Death Punch

They are on the road now. Things continue to go well for them. They could easily fit at the Mississippi Valley Fair.

Nickelback

It's been a few years since Nickelback rocked the fair. I think they could be ready to come back. New music is out now. New album coming this fall. You know that means a tour is right behind that. They'll be all over the summer festivals next year, and this could be in play.

Papa Roach

Papa Roach will always be my top choice until it happens. Cause I know how bad the Quad Cities want it and how bad the folks at the MVF want it. If timing can work out, I think this is the best bet we have to make the Mississippi Valley Fair rock again!

Skillet, Theory of a Deadman and Saint Asonia at the Sold Out Show at The Rust Belt

It was an incredible night with a few thousand friends at The Rust Belt with Skillet, Theory of a Deadman, and Saint Asonia. The sold-out show rocked from front to back.
