The flights that take veterans from the Quad Cities to Washington will start back up this week.

According to the QC Times, the Bob Morrison Memorial Flight, that’s named to honor the late founder of Honor Flight of the Quad Cities, will take about 100 veterans on a flight to Washington DC to see monuments and memorials to war veterans.

The next flight takes place Thursday, Nov. 4.

The QC Times reports this flight will include the 5,000th veteran to fly with Honor Flight of the Quad-Cities.

If you’d like to be part of the flight organizers say the group still needs guardians to assist the veterans during the trip. If you’d like to apply go to www.honorflightqc.org.

The QC Times says two of the volunteer guardians on the Nov. 4 flight will be Morrison's sons.

Veterans and guardians leave the Quad Cities in the morning and will return to the Quad-City International Airport around 10 p.m. Thursday. Anyone can go to the  airport to welcome the veterans home. Just make sure you have face coverings while you’re inside the airport.
