Monday, June 27th is a very tragic anniversary for many Iowans. Jodi Huisentruit was abducted on her way to anchor the morning news in Mason City Iowa 27 years ago. Sadly Jodi’s family and friends have had no closure and no answers, and no arrested/charges in connection with this unsolved case were ever made.

This is a truly heartbreaking story, and that's why this nonprofit is asking anyone here in Iowa to show their love and support with #LightsForJodi

The Lights for Jodi

This nonprofit shared Jodi's story which is a hard read.

Jodi has not been seen since that summer morning in 1995. No one has been arrested or charged in connection with Iowa’s highest-profile unsolved case.

While sharing her story, they also keep her name and memory in the minds of many.

KCRG reports,

The campaign is headed by by FindJodi, a group of journalists stationed across the country, working to keep Jodi’s story alive.

While Jodi's story is truly a sad one it is important to keep it alive and means a lot to many journalists. the initiative started in 1995, the year Jodi Huisentruit went missing. KCRG also stated that FindJodi is asking that anyone who does participate in the “Lights for Jodi” campaign to share a photo with “#LightsForJodi” on social media.

30 Photos of the Quad City Sunrise

What makes the sunrise so colorful?
According to WeAreGreenBay.com, "At sunrise and sunset, the sun has to pass through more of the atmosphere than when it is directly overhead during the middle of the day, thus more scattering of molecules occurs. The longer distance of travel through the atmosphere causes more of the blue-colored wavelengths to be scattered before reaching our eyes."

So in a shorter answer... Science.
