If you've ever played a game of Monopoly with anyone, you already know that the game causes division in the family, and things are milliseconds from becoming an ass-beating.

The Tulsa Police Department arrested a man Saturday night after a friendly family game of Monopoly turned violent.

Officers say they were responding to a shots-fired call near Admiral and Mingo just before 6:30pm. The caller knew the suspect already, naming him as John Armstrong, saying he chased her down and fired a shot at her and her father.

Police arrived on the scene and immediately took Armstrong into custody without incident.

Investigators talking with Armstrong's family determined that the caller - his stepsister - and the rest of the family had been playing a game of Monopoly together while having some alcoholic beverages, and an argument between Armstrong and his stepfather broke out.

The argument quickly turned to the two exchanging blows, knocking over the board game, and furniture being overturned in the house. It was then that the family told the two to take the fight outside.

After being "cut in the head" according to KTUL, Armstrong chased his stepfather and stepsister down the street, pointing a gun at them. He told police he fired one shot "at the ground."

Officers did not find the firearm, saying they believe Amstrong hid it in the house before surrendering.

John Armstrong was arrested and booked into the Tulsa County Jail for assault with a deadly weapon.
