Niabi Zoo Needs Volunteers For Pints For Preservation Event

The Niabi Zoo is looking for help for their upcoming event, Pints for Preservation. The event is their biggest fundraiser of the year and to make sure it goes off smoothly, officials are asking for volunteers.

In a newsletter on Monday, officials from the Niabi Zoo asked for volunteers for an upcoming event which also happens to be their largest fundraiser of the year. On Friday, September 24, Niabi Zoo will host its Pints for Preservation event. Pints for Preservation kicks off the campaign to bring a new endangered species to Niabi, African Painted Dogs.

To make the Niabi Zoo turn into the social venue of the season for adults, officials say they will need many volunteers to help set up and operate drink stations throughout the event. Volunteers can help individually, as a couple, or gather some friends to volunteer together.

Officials from Niabi Zoo will need over 50 volunteers for Pints for Preservation. In the newsletter, officials listed where and how many volunteers they will need:

Set up - Tables & tablecloths (11am-3pm) - 8 needed
Pourer - Pour drink samples (5-10:30pm) - 40 needed
Greeters - Check ID & give wristbands (5-8:30pm) - 4 needed
Distribution - Passport & glasses (5-8:30pm) - 4 needed

Officials from Niabi Zoo say that volunteers are there to assist with the operation of the event for the entirety of their shift and are not to participate in the event during their shift. Those who want to volunteer can sign up here.

For those who want to attend, Pints for Preservation is happening Friday, September 24 from 6-10 p.m. This event allows you to sip local brews as you explore Niabi Zoo.

Admission is $45 for members and $55 for non-members. All tickets include admission to the zoo, beer samples at over 15 tasting stations which will have beers from local and regional breweries, and a souvenir tasting glass.

Officials say that a variety of food trucks will also be at Pints for Preservation for people to purchase food.

Niabi Zoo officials say that the proceeds help bring a new animal, the endangered African Painted dog, to the zoo including transportation of the new animals, a new species-appropriate habitat, and ongoing conservation and education experiences focused on the new species.
