This weekend is going to be a blast, lots of fun, lots of beer, and lots of giving back to charity.

THIS SATURDAY NIGHT

On Saturday, February 11th the Quad City Storm will take on the Evansville Thunderbolts.

This will be the second $1 Beer night of the season, and with that being said, it is going to be a big and loud crowd.

The game starts at 7:10 PM on Saturday night. Tickets for this game are selling fast! We recommend getting your tickets ahead of time. Get your tickets here.

THIS SUNDAY NIGHT

Cheer on our high school hockey team as the Quad City Blues take on the Cedar Rapids Roughriders this Sunday at the Vibrant Arena.

The Quad City Blues annual benefit game has a new beneficiary, Getting Heroes Home.

This year's proceeds will be donated to Getting Heroes Home, gettingheroeshome.org, a non-profit organization started by two local veterans that provide funds to cover travel expenses for active service persons so they can be reunited with their loved ones for important life events such as births, deaths, holidays, and more.

Travel expenses can be a huge burden for service members, especially when coming from an overseas deployment, and many people don't realize that military branches don't cover these costs. Getting Heroes Home steps in to fill this gap and make sure our heroes can be there for the people they love.

As a special tribute, the Blues will take to the ice-wearing custom camo jerseys, generously donated by Getting Heroes Home, adorned with the emblems of all branches of the military.

Two of these jerseys will be up for auction, along with t-shirt sales, bake sales, raffle items, and a silent auction of goods and services. And the best part? The event is free to attend, so everyone can come out, enjoy some hockey and show their support for
our heroes.

Silent auctions, raffles, and bake sales will help the Blues raise funds for Getting Heroes Home. We hope to see you Sunday to cheer on your Quad City Blues.

JV puck drop is at 11 am and the Varsity matchup will follow, approximately at 1 pm.

Earlier In The Season

The Storm traveled to Vermillion County to play against the Bobcats last Sunday. The game was called a forfeit as the Bobcats did not show up to their home game. After the game, was scheduled a post-game-skate for the Bobcat player and their fans. But since the players were nowhere to be found, the Storm Players decided to stay and skate with the Vermillion fans so that they could still have a good experience.

Vermillion County Bobcats have ceased operations.

Last Saturday, the Storm hosted their Hockey Fights Cancer Night. Fans came in a few days prior and painted the names of loved ones who have fought or are currently fighting cancer. Over 500 names ended up being painted on the ice.

Here are photos of the Hockey Fights Cancer Jerseys that were worn and auctioned off at the end of the game.
