Road Closures Announced For RAGBRAI & Bix 7 Weekend In Davenport
It's going to be very busy on Saturday, July 29th in downtown Davenport. Two annual events will happen in the Quad Cities' largest town on the same day making it an exciting weekend in our community.
The 50th RAGBRAI and 49th Bix 7 take place on Saturday, July 29th, 2023, in Davenport. That means road closures and a lot of them. If you plan to go downtown this weekend, bring with you patients and extra time because you'll need it to find parking.
Davenport Road Closures For Bix 7 & RAGBRAI
Ahead of the RAG-Bix, or Bix-BRAI weekend in Davenport, the City of Davenport has released road closure maps for both the Bix 7 and RAGBRAI.
The Bix 7 race will be the usual road closures in downtown Davenport with a few minor adjustments from last year. RAGBRAI brings new road closures on the west end of town and rides head to Centennial and Veterans Memorial Park to dip their tires in the Mississippi River at the Marquette Street boat ramp to complete this year's ride.
First, we'll list the Bix 7 road closures and show you the Bix 7 course map, then we'll list the RAGBRAI road closures. A quick note that all downtown parking ramps will offer free parking from 5 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, July 29th.

49th Annual Bix 7
Established in 1975 and named after the famous jazz musician and Davenport native, Bix Beiderbecke, the Bix 7 road race is a seven-mile race that begins by going uphill on Brady Street.
Per usual, the 49th annual Quad-City Times Bix 7 will take place on the last Saturday of July, and this year, that falls on Saturday, July 29th. The race will begin that morning at 8 a.m., along with the Quick BIX (2-mile race). The Bix 7 begins at Brady St and 4th St and finishes at 2nd St and LeClaire St.
50th Register's Annual Great Ride Across Iowa
2023 will also mark the 50th RAGBRAI. Thousands of people from Iowa and around the world will ride 500 miles from Sioux City and the Missouri River to Davenport and the Mississippi River.
