Powerball Jackpot At $725 Million, Iowa Ticket Wins $2 Million

You might want to grab a Powerball ticket on your way to or from work today or tomorrow.

According to CBS, the current Powerball jackpot is at $725 million, which is the 7th largest jackpot in the game's history.

No one won the massive jackpot in the drawing on Monday night, but an Iowa ticket did win $2 million off of it, matching the numbers on the white balls and adding the Power Play. From the Monday drawing, there were about 1.5 million tickets that won smaller prizes, adding up to about $14 million. One California ticket won $1 million by matching just the white balls.

But that $725 million is still up for grabs.

It's Been A Hot Minute Since Someone Won The Jackpot

CBS says that there have been 35 consecutive Powerball drawings without a jackpot winner. The last time someone did win the Powerball jackpot was back on April 19th, when a ticket from Ohio hit it big. It's not the biggest jackpot in Powerball's history but it's a chunky one.

Obviously, you have pretty terrible statistical odds at actually winning the Powerball jackpot. Powerball even says that. Your odds are about 1 in approximately 292,200,000. But hey as much lottery luck as the QCA has had in recent months, I wouldn't say it's that far out of the question for us to have a winner.

I don't know what I'd even do with $725 million, but I'd like the chance to find out so I'll make sure to get a Powerball ticket before Wednesday night.
