
Here Are The 7 New Bills Iowa Governor Reynolds Signed Into Law On Friday
Governor Reynolds isn't wasting her Fridays.
Just one week after the governor signed 12 bills into law, she has now signed an additional 7 bills too.

According to a press release from the Governor's office, she signed the following bills into law on Friday:
SF 574: relates to the retention of fees for public improvement contracts
HF 672: concerns county and city regulation of real property and the powers that are granted to a board of adjustment
HF 844: deals with bank eligibility for public funds
HF 470: relates to alcohol regulations, including who can get retail licenses, bond requirements, and fee determinations
HF 381: concerns statutory corrections, which may adjust language to reflect current practices, put in earlier omissions, get rid of redundancies and inaccuracies, fix inconsistencies and conflicts, remove ambiguities, and provide code editor directives
HF 547: enacts the Respiratory Care Interstate Compact
HF 785: modifies provisions on charter school board member requirements

One bill that advanced out of the Iowa House this week would eliminate sales tax on household necessities, including toilet paper.

If Governor Reynolds signs that one, it would go into effect on July 1st. The Iowa Senate this week, meanwhile, passed the "College Affordability Act" on to Governor Reynolds' desk. That would require the Iowa Board of Regents to set tuition for state universities by April 30th and possibly form new degree programs.
