The Home of Iowa’s Best Broasted Chicken Could Be Closing
Some of Iowa's best restaurants aren't located in its biggest cities. Some are nestled on main streets in small-town Iowa. It continues to be a rough ride for local restaurant owners. We've had several sad closings late in 2023 including one of my all-time favorites, The General Store in Stone City. And now, a little restaurant in Alburnett, a favorite stop for people from all over Iowa, is facing the possibility of closing for good.
If you ask a group of people from Eastern Iowa where to go for the best broasted chicken around, chances are the majority will tell you Fuller's Pub and Grub in Alburnett. The locally-owned eatery serves up chicken dinners with sides like baked beans, cole slaw, and dinner rolls. And don't forget their jumbo wing special on Wednesday nights!
People drive from hours away to enjoy the great food and small-town atmosphere that Fuller's Pub and Grub offers. Many of those devoted fans were sad to see a social media post sharing some uncertain news about the restaurant.
Yes, Fuller's Pub and Grub is officially up for sale. What does that mean for all those broasted chicken fans? The post states that the owners are hoping to find a buyer to keep the restaurant up and running. But if they don't, Fuller's will most likely close at some point. Fans of their food can rest easy for now, knowing that the restaurant will keep its normal business hours.
Another great restaurant facing an uncertain future. Get to Alburnett and Fuller's Pub and Grub while the chicken is still hot! They are open Tuesday through Saturday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
