It is Girl Scout Cookie season in the Quad Cities and today is International Women's Day! A Bettendorf brewery is giving you a chance to support these young women with a special event that lets you pair Girl Scout Cookies and craft beers. Girl Scouts who sell cookies right here in the Quad Cities will be on hand selling everyone's favorite cookies and there will be live music to keep you entertained.

Cookies and beers sound like an interesting combination. While you typically wouldn't do that, Crawford Brew Works (3659 Devils Glen Road Bettendorf) is hosting a Cookies & Brews event tonight, March 8th, to support local Girl Scouts. They have teamed up with Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois to help raise money for the local Girl Scouts.

Tonight's Cookies & Brews event is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. According to their Facebook event page, volunteers, troop leaders, families, staff, and friends of Girl Scouts will be "taking over" Crawford Brew Works in Bettendorf. During those four hours, Girl Scouts will be there selling cookies. From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., there will be live music from Lojo Russo.

All-day long, Crawford Brew Works is letting your try their Girl Scout Cookies and flight pairings. Yes, Crawford Brew Works has paired Girl Scout Cookies with their craft beers. Don't knock it until you try it!

These are the pairings you can expect today at Crawford Brew Works and if you really enjoy a pairing or all of them, these are the beers and cookies to combine at home:

  • Thin Mints - Mining for Pearls Lager
  • Lemon Up - Key Lime Sour
  • Adventurfuls - Road Rash Raspberry
  • S'mores - Pedal Porter
  • Samoas - Get Off My Lawn IPA

Crawford Brew Works also said that 10% of proceeds from the evening will support the local Girl Scout council.
