We are hoping this is the first, of many concert announcements for the spring and summer.  We also know there are more coming that will take place here in the Quad Cities.  Hopefully we'll be able to announce those first.

The Five Flags Center today announced that Otherwise will headline a concert on Sunday, April 18. Opening acts for the show will be The 9th Planet Out and local favorites RachetJaw. Tickets for the show will go on sale Friday morning at 10:00 at the Five Flags Box Office and online through FiveFlagsCenter.com.

Otherwise has steadily been building its fanbase over the past decade. The Las Vegas-based quartet first began catching fans’ attention in 2012 with their major label debut album ‘True Love Never Dies.’ The disc reached #10 on the Billboard US Rock Albums chart. The album included the song “Soldiers,” which the band self-released before signing with a record label. The track made it to the Top 20 on both the Mainstream Rock and Active Rock singles charts and was the first-ever single by an unsigned band to reach #1 on Sirius/XM’s Octane station airplay list. “Soldiers” has also been streamed nearly 44 million times on Spotify alone.

Since then, Otherwise has seen their album ‘Peace at All Costs,’ reach #5 on the Rock Albums listing, as well as crack the Top 50 of the overall Hot 200 Albums chart. In addition, five more of their singles have reached at least the Top 30 on one of the major rock charts. The group has toured with the likes of Stone Sour and Papa Roach. They currently attract better than a half-million monthly streaming listeners on Spotify.

Since debuting just three years ago, Minnesota-based The 9th Planet Out has been making a name for itself with an aggressive touring schedule. The group, known to fans as 9PO, has packed local venues on their own in addition to opening up for acts ranging from Skillet to StaticX to Sevendust.

Tri-State Area favorites RachetJaw will open up what promises to be a big night of active rock. The group has made appearances all over the Dubuque area in recent years, including frequent stops at venues like Poopy’s and Sandy Hook Tavern and events including Summer’s Last Blast.

The Otherwise concert will be certified through ASM Global’s VenueShield program. New procedures will include use of a fog-based disinfectant before and after the concert. Frequently-touched surfaces will also be cleaned by Five Flags Center staff every 30 minutes. Signage will be placed throughout the venue to promote physical distancing. Hand sanitizer stations have been positioned around the building as well.
