I-Rock with Rock Stars – Amanda from Eva Under Fire “We’re Never Going Away Again”
Eva Under Fire is ready to share their new album with the world. An album that was supposed to take about 6 months took 2 years. But in this interview with Amanda from Eva Under Fire, she says, "We're back, and at this point we've turned in so much music that we're just never going to go away again."
The new album, Villainous, is already seeing success with a Top 10 hit in the title track, Villainous. Amanda says that the track is a glimpse into the entire album, which tells a story and gets heavier and more serious than where they were on the last album.
Villainous with Maria Brink and Sword Fighting Amanda

That photo is from the last time Eva Under Fire was at the Rust Belt. 3 years ago. A lot has changed since then. They are going on arena tours with Five Finger Death Punch and getting metal icons like Maria Brink to feature on their songs.
"You couldn't pick a better feature for that song," says Amanda. "I've been an In This Moment Fan for years. We were all in the van together the first time we heard her voice on that track, and we were like, 'No notes, send it."
The first single from the new album, of course, comes with a video. It's worth a watch. And this one, the band decided to take it to the next level. Not just performing in a back alley, looking all cool. No, this one has Amanda fighting demons.
So I had to ask Amanda if she did all the stunts on her own. "I didn't do all of them. I did what I could handle. I had a stunt double, which is crazy. She is way more agile than I am. I had to stretch before I did any of that." But still don't mess with Amanda cause even with a stunt double, she still took care of business. "They were teaching me how to hold the samurai sword and make it look like I knew what I was doing."
The New Eva Under Fire Album Drops July 10
While Amanda tells me this album was written across six different studios, you can't hear the difference from track to track.
"The continuity. The connective tissue is all there." Amanda then piqued my interest even more in the album when she said it's a "world-building character arc experience". And if you know me, I like characters in worlds. I'm a Marvel nerd.
Amanda said, "For me, in my brain, it's a concept album. I think that it translates not just with the theme from the album but also throughout the artwork, the visualizers, the videos, and the live show; we're going to keep seeing this theme."
The best line Amanda told me when talking about the new album: "This is us coming into our own. Very much not listening to other people when they tell us what we should be writing." I mean, that's rock & roll.
