Aldi Regrets Setting Out Phallic Shaped Easter Marshmallows [PHOTO]
Easter is 1 month away and grocery stores are starting to set out their easter themed foods, snacks, and candies. Shoppers are starting to see all kinds of sales on chocolate, peeps, and jelly bird eggs. One grocery store is making waves on social media right now and not for a reason they'd probably want.
When they say no publicity is bad publicity, that's partially true. But I'd be willing to guess 99 times out of 100, you'd rather make news headlines for something good you've done. Is this the worst thing in the world? No. It's just a little bit embarrassing.
The popular grocery chain Aldi made a bit of a blunder in releasing these easter themed bunny marshmallows and even they admit to the oversight. Sometimes it's just your turn to get roasted on social media and Aldi is going through it right now. The easter bunny marshmallow snacks look more like something else, rather than an easter themed bunny rabbit.
According to the New York Post, a British woman, who goes by MissV on Twitter, posted this photo and said "Sorry Aldi, but that ain't a Bunny." Social media did what it tends to do and started piling on jokes. I'll leave it up to your imagination but there are a lot of replies to the tweet of people wondering if they misspelled chicks.
I hate to say this but I think the internet might actually be right on this one. How did not one person within the Aldi company ask the question "does this really look like an easter bunny?" On what planet would someone look at these Bunnies & Chicks marshmallows and say "yep, looks exactly like a bunny rabbit, start stocking the shelves." Aldi couldn't do much to defend the mistake either. Check out their response to the original photo
They're certainly right. There's not a whole lot they can do to defend that. Looks like Aldi will have to get back to the drawing board with this one.
