When people in the Midwest think of Iowa they think of corn. When people anywhere in the U.S.A. think of Iowa they think of corn. When people anywhere in the world think of Iowa, they should think of corn. Iowa is the top corn-producing state in America followed by Illinois. So one would think that the world's largest corn maze would be in Iowa or at the very least Illinois. Unfortunately, it is not.

The World's Largest Corn Maze is in Minnesota

Stoney Brook Farms is located about an hour north of Minneapolis and just 15 minutes from St. Cloud Minnesota. Or about 6 1/2 hours away from the Quad Cities.

According to the SC Times, the current Guinness Worl Record for the largest corn maze is 60 acres. Stoney Brook Farms is 110 acres with 32 miles of paths.

And as you can see, they didn't just just make some squiggly lines in a corn field. You will have to weave your way through Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers, Jason, Chucky, and Pennywise. They all just want to play with you.

More than just a tractor and a map to build this maze.

You're not going to be able to build the world's largest corn maze with a tractor and a general idea of what Pennywise the Clown looks like. It's beyond well-planned out. It's programmed.

Stoney Brook Farms worked with a company called "MazePlay", a corn maze design company.  They also have a special planter with upgraded technology that when programmed with the maze will only drop the corn at the right time.

The world's largest corn maze (verification still pending Guinness results) is open Sept 10-Oct 30 Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 am-6:00 pm. With 32 miles of pathways, Stoney Brook Farms recommends starting the extreme mazes before 3:00 pm due to difficulty.

Overall, it seems like a pretty cool corn maze and experience. Still feels like the world's largest corn maze should be in Iowa. But perhaps Iowa soil and corn are just too good to play in. We'll keep feeding the world.

Welcome To The Mississippi Valley Fair 2022

The Mississippi Valley Fair 2022 was another great one in Davenport. Here are some quick shots we got!

Hidden Pizza Gem 1 Hour Outside The Quad Cities

Having the best pizza in the Quad Cities has always been a fierce competition. I mean we even have our own version of pizza for goodness sake. While there are some incredible pizza joints in the Quad Cities, there are other pizza places that you need to visit. Geno's Pizza in Preston, IA is one of those places. It's less than an hour's drive from the Quad Cities and it's a spot you need to try.
