World’s Best Pizza Man Stops Police Chase, Doesn’t Drop The Pizza
Police in Philadelphia, as well as the entire internet, are praising a pizza man who took a suspect down for some police officers while on a delivery.
Officers were chasing a stolen vehicle Sunday afternoon in Brookhaven, a borough about 20 minutes southwest of Philadelphia.
The chase quickly slowed down right at the beginning of the viral video when the vehicle struck a pole outside a home across from where the delivery driver was waiting to drop off a pizza.
A voice on the home security video that's gone viral can be heard saying "That's a high speed chase!"
"You better not hit my f**king car!" the pizza guy yelled.
The suspect, identified by police only as a 17-year-old male, ran toward the red-shirted pizza driver, who just says "F**king idiot" as he kicks the feet of the running suspect.
The suspect went airborne for a second and landed on the ground. Officers yelled at the suspect to stay on the ground while they had their weapons drawn.
Meanwhile, the pizza itself remained upright and in perfect condition.
Warning: Language
"Thank you sir for the assist!!!" Brookhaven police said on Facebook "If you’re interested in a job we are always looking for good people."
Even the pizza shop shared the video and commended the driver, saying "Sorry for the inappropriate language, but we thought it was warranted. Special shoutout to our delivery driver Tyler, who assisted the Brookhaven police today, and STILL delivered the food unharmed!!"
The police department did want to clarify that they don't expect or even really want people to help them in a situation like this.
"In all seriousness, we do ask people to not intervene," Police Chief Michael Vice said. "We do want to let the police handle it. But, in this case, it did work out."
