Winter Weather Advisory Issued For Quad Cities Area

Snow is finally expected to impact the majority of the Quad Cities, Eastern Iowa, and Western Illinois on Tuesday. We will be seeing wind gusts, slick roads, and snowfall accumulations up to 3 inches. If you haven't busted out the shovel and snowblower, get it ready as soon as you can because today will be a day of shoveling and snow scooping.

Tuesday, December 28th, 2021, the National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the following counties beginning at 6 a.m. this morning that will last until 6 p.m. tonight:

Iowa	Illinois
Buchanan Delaware Dubuque Benton Linn Jones Iowa Johnson Cedar Muscatine Scott Washington	Louisa Rock Island Henry IL Bureau Putnam Mercer

According to the National Weather Service, the counties listed above should expect mixed precipitation. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze. Wind gusts up to 35 mph are possible this morning.

The precipitation is anticipated to begin as snow and then transition over to a wintry mix late morning into the afternoon hours before ending as rain. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning and evening commute.

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the following counties beginning at 6 a.m. this morning that will last until 11 a.m. this morning:

Iowa

Jefferson
Henry
Des Moines

Commuters in the counties listed above should expect slippery travel conditions due to a wintry mix, according to the National Weather Service. Total snow accumulations of up to one inch are expected.
