If you've been looking for ways to help the community, now is a perfect time. Many of us look for different ways to truly help, and this is a great opportunity. Davenport is seeking volunteers to help keep our streets and streams clean this Spring. as that snow starts to melt, litter becomes exposed, and it hurts our waterways.

Davenport’s annual Corridor Cleanup is just around the corner. It will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022.

March is a very crucial time to clean up areas post snowmelt, it only takes a short amount of time for that trash to end up in our River. Without people like you willing to help, major damage could be done to our waterways.

It doesn’t matter how it got there, it's there now. We can keep it off of the road and out of our creeks. The annual Corridor Cleanup is designed to help with the transition by bringing community members together with the common goal of keeping our streets and streams clean. Robbin Dunn, the event’s coordinator, mentioned,

“We can’t do it alone. The Corridor Cleanup is a great way to participate and take pride and ownership in the community we live in, while enjoying the outdoors, meeting new people, and protecting our numerous waterways.”

Not only are you helping the community, but cleanups can be an adventure. When it comes to the Corridor Cleanup, we never know what volunteers might uncover - license plates and some of the most peculiar items you can imagine have been found over the years. Volunteers might even be the person who finds and reunite someone with a personal item.
