Whitey’s Announces New Flavor for John Deere Classic’s 50th Anniversary
You've just combined two of the Quad Cities' favorite things. Whitey's ice cream and a world class golfing event that's held each year in our backyards.
Whitey's has just announced a new flavor to commemorate the John Deer Classic's 50th anniversary. The flavor is a mix of lemon custard and lime sherbet because, hello, yellow and green are the classic John Deere colors. Genius.
Also, 50 years for the JDC. Doesn't seem possible the nationally broadcast tournament has been happening here for so many years.
If you've ever been to the tournament, you know you can find Whitey's practically everywhere along the golf course along with those classic pork chop sandwiches. According to the QC Times, Whitey's has even gotten national recognition during the tournament broadcast.
Back in 2015 CBS golf commentator, David Feherty called the sweet treat, "the greatest ice cream shop in the world." Kind of a big deal.
You won't have to wait for the golf tourney to taste the new flavor. You can grab a scoop of this refreshing flavor starting today at any Whitey's locations.
