One of the hottest comedians (in more ways than one) caused an Eastern Iowa ticketing site to crash leading up to the general on sale of his show.

The news came earlier this month that comedian Matt Rife would be going on a world tour called the  ProbleMATTic World Tour Rife made the announcement in a video that featured cameos from Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis.

This comedian has two Iowa stops on his comedy tour planned already.

Both of the stops he's making in Iowa have two different shows attached to them. One will be at 7:00 PM and another at 10:00 PM

November 2nd, 2023 ~ Ames, IA ~ Stephens Auditorium

November 3rd, 2023 ~ Cedar Rapids, IA ~ Paramount Theater

Tickets went on sale to the general public on Friday, June 9th. The presale took place on Tuesday, June 6th and things started to get a bit dicey. From the moment that queue opened up, fans knew it wasn't going to be easy to get tickets.

As soon as it hit 10:00 AM, the presale went live. I got into the presale queue for the Paramount Theater several hours after the fact to see if there were any tickets left.  At approximately, 2:45 PM I joined the line and the website said that I had more than an hour wait.

At approximately 5:10 PM, just over two hours later, I reached the front of the line only to find out that the presale tickets for both of the Cedar Rapids shows were sold out.

The Paramount Theater confirmed the next day that once the general on sale time came, that there would be a very limited number of tickets available for purchase AND there would be a four ticket limit per person.

Several days later, the general on sale lasted maybe 45 minutes. The Paramount Theater in Cedar Rapids has approximately 1,690 seats and with two shows there would probably be around 3,380 total tickets.

I hopped into the queue as soon as the clock hit 10:00 AM and I was the 7,442 person in line. There was no way I was going to get in and get out with those tickets.

Now, tickets are going for upwards of $2,000 on resale sites. A lot of these websites are not legit, so make sure to be careful if you really want to get yourself to the show. Even Matt Rife said that people should not be paying that much for tickets.

I was scrolling through social media to see how other people did with getting tickets and most people admit that it was a sort of "hunger games" scenario.

One user even said she got a strange call after purchasing the tickets.
