Quad City Snowfall Totals

Friday's snowstorm has come and gone. Quad Citians are waking up to a fresh new layer of snow on the ground and slick roads. While the Quad Cities didn't get as much snow as central Iowa, there are still a few inches that people are shoveling to clear driveways and sidewalks.

Winter Storm Izzy has passed through Iowa and western Illinois. The storm slammed through central Iowa dumping up to 14 inches of snow in central Iowa. The Quad Cities didn't see that much snow, but Quad Cities are waking up to a few new inches of snow on the ground.

The National Weather Service of the Quad Cities has released their official snowfall numbers for the cities in the area as of 6 a.m. on Saturday:

Moline - 4.6 inches
Davenport - 4.0 inches
Dubuque - 1.9 inches

Iowa Environmental Mesonet at Iowa State University has released a map showing snowfall totals throughout the entire state of Iowa. Looking at the map below, you can see where the majority of snow fell in the state.

In central Iowa, where the storm dumped the most snow, snowfall totals range from 7 inches to 14 inches. The Des Moines International Airport is saying they saw the most snow on the ground reporting 14.3 inches of snow.

Luckily, there really isn't any chance for new snow in the upcoming forecast. There is a 20% chance of snow Sunday night, but it doesn't look like anything major. You can see the full forecast from the National Weather Service of the Quad Cities here.
