10/8 Update:  The Quad Cities is still represented strong as the group competition is now down to the top 5 in their group category.  Unfortunately, Ashley didn't move on, but, there are still 3 others you can vote on below!

What is the Face of Horror competition?

The Face of Horror is a competition that will crown a winner who will take home $13,000, get a walk-on role in an independent film, spend a 2-night stay at Buffalo Bill’s House, and be in a photo shoot with horror legend Kane Hodder for Rue Morgue Magazine.

The competition also supports the "B+ Foundation".  The foundation provides financial assistance to families, funds childhood cancer research, and brings awareness to the fight against childhood cancer.

Let's meet some of the contestants.

I'm not even going to say this is everybody from the Quad Cities...cause more than likely there are other people in town trying to win this thing.  But they didn't reach out to I-Rock 93.5.

We'll start with the original person who reached out, Amanda.

Madlen also says the way she would survive a horror film would be "Mind over matter. I am intelligent, I don’t always agree to dumb ideas, I am courageous, and I will always overcome challenges."

To see Amanda, Madlen, and Matthew move on, you can vote for each of them daily by clicking on their name.  And yeah, vote for all of them cause they are all in separate groups.  Let's see how many people from the Quad Cities we can get into the next round!

10 Household Tasks To Get Your Home Ready For The Fall Season

When September hits I'd like to think the world divides into two. One half is clinging on to summer with everything they have, while the other half is already starting to put pumpkins around their house and watching scary movies by the fireplace.

Although the official first day of fall is September 22, many people like to start fall traditions early as it excites them and brings them that warm fuzzy feeling. As the days become shorter and the weather changes there are tasks to be done when being a homeowner. Not only does one's mindset change as the seasons do, but the chores around the house change as well.

Now that the seasons are changing it is time to start preparing your home for the weather to come. We have gathered some important fall home maintenance tasks to get you and your home ready for the chilly season.
