
Celebrate The 40th Moonlight Chase In Eldridge And Run In The Dark
Celebrate 40 years of running in the dark in Eldridge!
The 40th Moonlight Chase in Eldridge is on July 12 and will once again close down the streets at night for you to run under the stars. There are runs for adults and kids, along with cash prizes for simply glowing thanks to The Fun Station.
It's A Full Day Of Fun In Eldridge, Iowa
The race is the main event of a fun-filled day in Eldridge that includes activities, entertainment, shopping, food, and beverages, from 7 a.m. until the post-race live music/street dance, which ends at midnight.
The day begins with the Lions Club Pancake Breakfast at the North Scott High School, featuring the Ukeladies.
Then enjoy a parade through the streets of Eldridge starting at 11 am.
Immediately following the parade at Noon, the festival gets underway with a Maker’s Market, ten different food vendors, and activities like the traditional pedal pull, water fights for kids, Miller’s Petting Zoo, bubbles galore and a Mega Foam Blaster, LMT Rifle Raffle, mini golf, and various other booths and activities.
QC favorite Crooked Cactus will play downtown immediately after the 4-mile race, with the party in the streets until midnight.
The 40th Moonlight Chase
The 4-mile race begins at 9 pm, so you really are running in the dark. Run for your best time or just run for fun dressed in your best glowing gear.
There is more than just the big run around town.
The Kids Can Run The Race Too
Get the kids off the tablet and get them running in the streets on July 12. There are two races for the kids to run.
First is the Mel Foster Company 1/4 Mile Run. This is for kids ages 6 and under. All participants receive a finishers medal with no clock displayed.

Next for the kids is the Scott County Animal Hospital 1 Mile Run. This one is for kids ages 7-12. Again with this one, all participants will receive a finisher medal. But, this timed run also features place winner medallions to the top (4) four places in each (2) two-year age division.
Both kids' races will end with free refreshments at the finish line

So you aren't fast. No problem. First off, it's a fun run. And second, even the slowest run/jog/walk can win cash!
