Kurt Deimer is a musician and actor who may be familiar to you from the Quad Cities or the big screen.

Kurt was on his way back from a show in Sioux Falls and decided to swing by the Rock & Roll Mansion to chat with us about everything he has going on.

Kurt told I-Rock 93.5, "I do this for the people cause I love people and humanity, and I'm trying to convey the message that everyone treat each other with respect and kindness and peace and love everywhere I play."

Kurt and his band have been doing it by touring all over with bands like Skid Row, Buckcherry, Tesla, Geoff Tate, Drowning Pool, and many more.  They have been on the road for the last 3 years grinding, but Kurt knows that is what it takes.

Not only is Kurt loving his time behind the mic and on stage, but he's also on the screen with 6 movie credits under his name and another 4 coming out.

The biggest movie you've seen him in was when he was killed by one of the most famous horror movie villains ever.  Kurt said he was asked to be in Halloween 2018 (That picture above is from Kurt on the Red Carpet at the premiere in Hollywood) as the teller who would be killed by Michael Myers.  "I didn't know how I was going to get killed, but I was in a prosthetic that took 3 hours to put on."  Kurt went on to say, "The teeth went out of my mouth, and I got zipped up in the body bag, and now Michael Myers and I are good friends."

Kurt has also been in Trading Paint with John Travolta and will soon go from being killed to a killer.

You'll soon be able to see him in Hellbilly Hollow, A Burrowing Heart, Relapse, and Pandemic Sex Party.  In that one, he plays The Rancher, who this time is the masked killer.

Kurt Deimer Teaming Up With Josh Todd for "In Deep"

A good way to get your band more recognized is by getting your band to play with someone who is already recognized.  Kurt has a new song coming out with Josh Todd of Buckcherry.

Kurt said, "Josh and I were on tour, and we got together, and he said he wanted to do a song with us.  After the tour, we stayed in contact and worked through the details.  Josh loved the song, he loved the riff, but he said he wasn't going to do it unless he could write the lyrics the way he wanted."

So this summer, they all got together in the studio to do the vocals and shoot the video, and now you'll see and hear "In Deep" in September.

It's always fun and fascinating to talk with the people behind the music, and in this case, behind the screen.  Oh, and also, Kurt happens to own an oil company called STARFIRE.  You can listen to the full interview with him below and more of our "I-Rock with Rockstars" here.
